Lindholmen Science Park has become the most knowledge-intensive and expansive area in Gothenburg, and an important hub for the expanding city.

The Volvo Group California office is located at hub335 in the heart of Silicon Valley, the global center of technological innovation and home to many of the world’s largest technology companies, putting Volvo in the epicenter of this dynamic collaboration area. Hub335 is an innovation community workspace with the goal of becoming an immersed part of the Silicon Valley ecosystem. We look forward to shaping a sustainable future together with external partners.

Volvo Group Connected Solutions has, together with Volvo Group Strategy, jointly entered into a partnership with the world-renowned school Hyper Island to access cutting edge education and help foster the next generation of tech-savvy creative talent. 

Urban logistics contributes to challenges in the form of traffic congestion and poor inner-city environment, but is also a prerequisite for an attractive city. Volvo Group is therefore starting an exciting project in which industry, academia and society will jointly develop and test a system-of-systems in Gothenburg to reduce the number of goods transports to the inner-city area by 40 per cent.

The Volvo Group Connected Solutions Innovation Lab are involved in a multitude of cutting-edge innovative projects critical to the success of the future. The Volvo LIGHTS project in Southern California is an important step towards transforming goods movement. The project will demonstrate the ability for heavy-duty, battery electric trucks and equipment to reliably move freight between the city’s two major ports and warehouses throughout the region with less noise and zero emissions. 

In a construction project, every single load is vital to all concerned since even small disruptions may have a large impact over time. With the help of load weighing and digitalisation a solution was created that not only ensures correct loading every single time, it also offers all concerned full transparency.

Together with Ericsson, Volvo Cars, Veoneer, Zenuity, CEVT and hosted by Lindholmen Science Park we founded MobilityXLab. MobilityXlab offers young companies with pioneering ideas the opportunity to accelerate. We believe that by combining our strengths we can push the boundaries of innovation.
