For the first time, the Volvo Group demonstrated products from all of its nine business areas in a single exhibition. Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, Volvo Buses, Volvo CE, Volvo Penta, Volvo Aero and Volvo Financial Services were on display at the Group’s Shanghai headquarters in a separate exhibition that ended June 29. In addition, the Volvo Group’s three joint venture brands in China - Sunwin Bus, Silver Bus, Lingong Wheel Loader and Excavator - were part of the exhibition, to which customers, media, dealers and employees were invited.

At the Swedish National Pavilion at the ongoing World Expo, the Volvo Group is exhibiting two scale models of the latest hybrid technology – a Volvo Hybrid City Bus and a Volvo Hybrid Refuse Truck.

“We have received fantastic feedback from our Asian key customers and media, but also internally. Totally we received 4,000 key guests. Everyone was impressed by how large and extensive the Volvo Group is and also slightly surprised to see all the companies and products included in the Group. At this brand and product exhibition in Shanghai, it became very clear to the visitor who we are. This was a unique opportunity for the Volvo Group to demonstrate its products, especially from a brand perspective,” says project manager Björn Brännberg, Brand and Corporate Events Communication, Volvo Group.

In total, 26 hard- and software products, including engines and other components, have been  displayed. The Brand & Product Exhibition also included activities like; company presentations, truck introductions,  media conferences, environmental seminars, product demonstrations, VIP programs, etc.

The separate Volvo Group activities at the Volvo Shanghai headquarters closed June 29. The World Expo 2010 is being open until October 31, 2010. In total, about 70 million people are expected to visit the expo which has the theme “Better City, Better Life – a broad focus on the aspiration to create better living conditions in cities”.
