Led by Vice President/General Manager Koen Knippenberg, the plant is the exclusive producer of Volvo trucks in North America and operates in 2.3 million square feet of manufacturing space under roof.
NRV plant is certified to ISO-9001 Quality standards, ISO-14001 Environmental standards and ISO 50001 Energy standards, plus Superior Energy Performance Platinum-Level by the U.S. Department of Energy.
3,600 employees produce every Volvo truck for the North American market, which includes total Cab and Vehicle Assembly. The All-New Volvo VNL will be produced at NRV starting mid-2024, and current models in production include the VNR series highway tractors, the VNR Electric, and VHD Trucks.
Over 200 robots are used in the cab and paint facilities. Our wet-on-wet paint systems are the first in the heavy truck industry, providing a premier paint finish.

The first U.S. built Volvo branded truck, a Volvo F7, was assembled at NRV in September 1982, and that truck resides in our plant today!
