The 150 Best Companies to Work for Guide is considered the most in-depth study of work environments in Brazilian Companies. It has been run for 13 years by Editora Abril, one of Latin America’s largest and most influential publishing groups.

Volvo placed third in this year’s ranking of the guide, and posted a Work Satisfaction Index of almost 91. The Work Environment Quality Index, which measures the staff’s satisfaction with the company, also scored very high – 90,7. Finally, the People Management Quality Index, which evaluates the people management practices, was even higher – 93.6.

“People are our best asset. This prize is a recognition for the extensive and ongoing investment program in our staff run by Volvo in Brazil”, declares Tommy Svensson, president of Volvo do Brasil.

The Guide highlighted that the high level of staff identification with the company is related to the way in which Volvo do Brasil interacts with all its audiences – staff and customers.

“Our staff knows that our products drive wealth generation for the country and this is a reason for pride for them”, observes Carlos Morassutti, HR and corporate affairs director of Volvo do Brasil.

Other positive points reported by the survey were: the full benefit package (health and nutrition, among other items); the investment in qualifying management and successors; and the incentive for employees to participate in the decision-making process.

“This result is another milestone in the story of Volvo do Brasil, which has always focused on the quality of human capital”, says Morassutti. “Passion, energy and respect for people. This is Volvo’s secret to be the best place to work”, concludes the executive.

Manufacturing trucks, buses and construction equipment, Volvo do Brasil has 2 300 employees in Curitiba, state of Paraná, the venue for the Latin American offices. This is also the venue of Volvo Financial Services Latin America and Volvo Penta do Brasil.
